Barotseland Economic Forum

Fears and questions have often been asked about the economic viability of Barotseland. On the Barotseland Economic Forum we will focus on exploring the development prospect of Barotseland and see which areas and sectors of economic development can Barotseland leverage post independence.

Barotseland is in the process of becoming an independent state. Efforts are being made diplomatically, politically and legally to actualize statehood, in order to make a legitimate claim for international recognition through the United Nations, African Union, SADC, Common Wealth and other bodies.

Let the whole world know that there is a lot of potential for investments in Barotseland. This part of Africa has been very peaceful for decades. Barotseland became part of the British Empire through peaceful negotiations a century ago, and part of Zambia in 1964 in the same way. In like manner, Barotseland would like to leave Zambia without bloodshed. We desire for this region to continue to be a peaceful sanctuary that it has been for a century. This was King Lewanika's vision and wish.
