"GROWING COLD FEET!"
The screaming headline in the online tabloid (Zambian Watchdog) was ‘Sikota Wina grows cold feet’! I do not know how you felt about the whole drama and the turn of events, but to me it felt like waking up from a nightmare. I mean the aborted, long awaited and well advertized Press Conference by the one time UNIP Cowboy.
I hope, I just hope, we are not being taken for a ride this time and the old man is not playing auction here. I mean trying to woo the highest bidder, as they say, between the Barotse People and the Sata Government.
I think we made a very strong foundation by holding the March 2012 BNC and passing those bold Resolutions. We should be building on that foundation and gaining momentum, instead of being derailed by Press Conferences that are neither here nor there. We must be busy making the whole world know and recognize that the train taking Barotseland to its total emancipation from the Zambian forced dominion has started moving and is gaining momentum and no one can stop it or stand in its way.
While we appreciate the significant role big fishes like Bo Sikota Wina can play if they indeed can come back to the fold like the prodigal son. Yet instead of slowing down for them to catch up, we should be urging them to hasten their steps and catch up with the ever increasing momentum of the Barotseland Freedom Train.
Many years ago (well over a decade I guess) I told cheering crowds at the Blue Gum Grounds that the Barotseland Freedom Train was warming up and getting ready to start off. I now think it has been in the neutral gear until March 2012 when it really took off. It must be seen and felt that it is slowly but very surely gaining momentum. Let it be written in the skies and everywhere else possible in ‘letters that glow’ that the Barotseland Freedom Train is Moving On! It is either you get on Board or get out of the way otherwise you risk being run over.
There has never been a more opportune time like this one for us to advance the Barotse cause. Posterity will judge us very harshly if we allow this opportune moment slip out through our fingers while we are watching and doing nothing about it. Let the bold decisions that need to be made, be made without hesitation or ambiguity. Let none of us be seen or said to be ‘Growing Cold Feet’.
LET FREEDOM REIGN! Keep the way clear between Barotseland and its long awaited freedom. Ki Naako! Lineki shaa, mina bana ba Mbuywamwambwa, bana ba Lubosi wa Nyambe yena Liwanika lya mafuci, mina bana ba POHO YE NSU.
Well, I am just thinking aloud!
Ki, Mwana’ Nyandi - Mungandi wa Muwina Mungandi
