Barotseland’s Freedom Has Finally Arrived – Prof. Sitwala

One of the important manifestations of effective and good leadership is consistency of word and action. Assuming that the article (index.php/en/frontnews/local-news/948-bre-shun-zambia-s-jubilee-celebration-as-nkandu-luo-s-courtesy-call-turns-sour) which appeared on the Barotse National Freedom Alliance (BNFA) website was an accurate account of what transpired during the visit to Siikalo Kuta by the Zambian Minister of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs, Hon. Nkandu Luo, then it means we can now b...

The Neglected Aspects of Barotseland’s Political Rights - by Saleya Kwalombota

International law did not begin with the United Nations, but the Organization has played an important role in consolidating and vastly expanding it.  International law consists of a body of treaties, customary laws, judicial decisions and other relevant sources that play a central role in promoting economic and social development, as well as international peace and security among the nations of the world.  It quickly becomes obvious that conflicts that have dominated the agenda of United Natio...

Barotseland should stay away from Zambia's ongoing and imminent elections - Lubasi Lubasi

The unfolding circumstance s in Zambia should be watched keenly, not that Barotseland is in any way interested in participating in the resultant elections or in who will lead Zambia following President Sata’s death but because we are dealing with people who are bent on keeping us within Zambia at all cost. Despite having resolved to accept Zambia’s abrogation of the Barotseland Agreement 1964, Zambians have continued to act as if all was normal by imposing their administration and even conduc...

Every Mondays and Fridays at 17:00hrs to 17:15hrs, let’s commit Barotseland in prayer. The Lozis in the Army and police working with our foes, you can say your prayers silently in your hearts. God has already answered our prayer so we need to thank him as much as we can.

The international media outfit PresTV has listed and named Barotseland among “Newest Emerging” nations of the world.

In their 20th December, 2012 article in which they accused “The corporate news media, acting on behalf of globalist contrivances like the European Union, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), is turning up the heat against moves by emergent nations in Europe to seek independence,” they listed Barotseland as one of those new nations marching to join the world community carrying their own banners.

The article was written by the internationally acclaimed Wayne Madsen, who is a Washington, D.C.-based investigative journalist, author and columnist specializing in intelligence and international affairs.

He is the author of the blog Wayne Madsen Report and here below are some of the many intelligence reports he is credited with.

  • In 2002 Wayne suggested to the Guardian newspaper that the United States Navy had aided in an attempted overthrow of Venezuelan president, Hugo Chavez.
  • In 2003 Wayne said that he had uncovered information linking the September 11 attacks to the government of Saudi Arabia as well as to Bush administration.
  • In 2005, he wrote than an unidentified former CIA agent claimed that the USS Cole was actually hit by a Popeye cruise missile launched from an Israeli Dolphin-class submarine.

The list of emerging nations of the world named by Wayne included Europe’s Catalonia and Scotland. Others named and sited in the article are; West Papua, Casamance, Ambazonia, South Yemen, Oromia, Azawad, Kashmir, Aceh, and Bangsamoro.

Funny how i thought we have always been a Nation, but only stateless. People may celebrate this piece of news but the more correct rendering of historical facts ought to have been differently reported. We are a Re-Emerging Nation! May the international community know this that we as Barotseland have been a Nation since the 1600s and we have not kept it safe for over 400 years by chewing bubble gum! It is a good thing though that our struggle continues to reach more receptive ears in the international community. It is however of paramount importance that accurate information has to be disseminated lest they think we are merely a bunch of noise-making crack pots hell bent on destabilizing a hitherto thought previous monolithic and singular nation of Zambia which has always been one and indivisible and consequently the regional 'peace' at large. “These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed, if so celestial an article as Freedom should not be highly rated.”- Thomas Paine
