As Barotseland pushes for total independence from Zambia, it is clear that the road will not be smooth as it has been with many countries and as such, we will draw a few lessons from countries and movements in the region that went through freedom struggle. In Southern Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, the struggle took the path of armed struggle after peaceful means failed to yield positive results. The Zimbabwe bush war or second Chimurenga was fought from 4th July 1964 to 12th December 1979, a period ...
PEACEFUL INDEPENDENCE STRUGGLE; THE OVERVIEW OF BAROTSELAND INSIGNIA It has now clocked three years down the line from the time people of Barotseland declared independence on 27th March, 2012, during this period many things have taken place such as arrests , torture of the Activists, division of tribes on ethic lines by the occupying power, luring some activists to trade the independence resolutions for government job offers, oiling of the hands of some activists with Zambian money to work ...
A secrete operation under Zambia’s Ministry of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs to destabilize Barotseland and infiltrate the Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) has been uncovered after a confidential report on the progress of what is termed ‘BRE 11’ assignment emerged. The confidential report, which was written by a Mr. Nachimwenda Edson of the Provincial Chiefs and Traditional Affairs office for Zambia’s western Province in Mongu and directed to provincial permanent secretary, Mr. Augustin ...
Mungu, Barotseland. The appeal case for jailed Barotseland National Youth League leaders Boris Muziba Muziba, Nayoto Mwenda and Sikwibele Wasilota came up for hearing this morning, and the trio were allowed to submit additional grounds for appeal, with the State requesting for a two weeks period in which to make their own submission to counter these grounds for appeal. As other times before, the atmosphere around the court arena was crowded with sympathizers who came in to give support to the ...
PREAMBLE The fundamental principle of democracy is the freedom of expression and right to affiliate or associate freely with any group or organization without violating the tenets of freedom. I hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men (women inclusive) are created equal before the law and have equal RIGHTS; and the fact that all HUMANITY is endowed by the Creator with the power of decision making, should be understood and embraced as UNITY in DIVERSITY. Allow me, therefore, to ...
In the latest turn of events surrounding the Barotseland Petition seized by African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights (ACHPR) of the African Union (AU), it has been learnt that the jittery Zambia government (GRZ) has pleaded for more time to respond to the petition, claiming that they have not seen the communication relating to the same. Consequently, at its 17th extra-ordinary session held from 19th to 28th February 2015, the Commission decided to grant the request and the secretariat of ...
The appeal case for the Barotseland National Youth league executive leaders; Muziba, Nayoto and Sikwibele who are jailed for three years with hard labor, for “publication of false news with intent to cause fear or alarm to the public contrary to the laws of Zambia” which took place on the 11th March 2015 in Mongu High Court of Zambia, has been adjourned to Monday 16th March, 2015. The reported Barotse freedom Alliance headed by Gen. C. W. Sinyinda is not a newly formed group in the struggle for the independence of Barotseland, but it is simply the main umbrella of the existing freedom movements, namely Barotse freedom movement (BFM), Barotse Intelligence and secrecy service (BI) and Movement for Restoration of Barotseland (MOREBA).

However the Alliance is not a newly formed movement and it is not a new entrant in the struggle. The Alliance is an umbrella of the freedom movements, whose agenda is carry and enforce the wish and decisions of the people of Barotseland.

Bulozinahayalun a i know who you are so do not hide in the name of bulozinahayalun a just come out in the open so that pipo can know who really you are, why hide yourself to me it means you are a coward. Do not forget that you are one of the pipo (cowards) who backed out of the shadow cabinet in 2011 and you went further to insult His Excellency RT.Hon. Afumba Mombotwa on both electronic & print media so don't annoy and insult the intelligence of we the Barotzish. As for sinyinda you are busy praising today was he not one of those pipo who was serving in the Zambian government when their security forces went to the Royal Barotseland Kingdom and massacred unarmed Barotzish mostly the youths so you annoy me the most and i feel like vomiting whenever you mention the name of anyone who served in the Zambian government at the time their security forces massacred our brothers and sisters. Therefore, pliz stop annoying and insulting us!!

Just look at Palestine. Every struggle has a journey. At one point in Zambia there was not even a freedom movement. Now there are many. At one point the issue of Barotseland was reduced to ngomalume, now we have matyrs who died on January 11. At one point there was only the newspapers of northern rhodesia which censured any news on Barotseland. Now we have our Barotse Post. The first organised liberation movement used pamphlets in the 1990s and printed them under secrecy as activists could be arrested when found doing this, now there is the internet. In the beginning we jusr used to listen to people. Now we have radio Barotseland. This is just natural in any revolution. There will be common ground eventually. Don't be discouraged brothers and sisters, one day freedom will come. Iron ore has to go through fire before it is pure iron. Just wait and see. Thanks you Barotse Post! Thanks Radio Barotseland! Kulula independence 2014!

It seems we have exhausted the old front of shadowy liberation movements vs the BRE and the Litunga. We seem to be opening up another front of old shadowy groups vs new shadowy groups; lets see how this pans out. The previous fued did churn out some viciuos acrimony. The amount of abuse hurled at the BRE and the Litunga has almost certainly done permanent damage to these 2 institutions. We now await how far daggers will be thrust in the latest intra dispute of the fictious rotse nation. What the rest can learn from all of this is that, do people still think such divided groups cdan ever exist as a peaceful nation. Never! bitter conflict and struggle could be the order of the day.

If Mr Sinyinda wanted unity he should have joined Linyungandambo. This would have made better sense than to try to re-invent the wheel. But he couldn't do this because he doesn't agree with their ideology. Then how is an alliance supposed to be possible under such circumstances? I don't want to accuse him of anything but one cannot help but wonder what his true motives are.

@bulozinahayalu na. No one is against Mr Sinyinda forming his freedom movement. It is the claim that his freedom movement consists of all the Barotseland freedom movements which is not true. In the first place Mr Sinyinda doesn't agree with Linyungandambo and BNYL in the approach that should be used to address the matter of Barotseland freedom. Secondly, BFA doesn't have a written manifesto which tell clearly what the objectives and aims of the organisation are. Thirdly, alliances can not be unilateral. People must meet and agree to form an alliance. You don't just wake up and say u have an alliance with someone with whom u don't agree and never met to form that alliance. So, please lets not bring unnecessary confusion. Let Mr Sinyinda form his BFA, but let him not claim that all the other groups fall under his movement because this is not true. We respected him as the Ngambela of Barotseland but this does not mean that he can come from no where and bulldoze everybody into his organisation as if those people don't know anything. This is disrespectful to others who have been working all along even when Mr Sinyinda was in the MMD government. Let us have respect for others.

We should not be greedy to think that barotse freedom activism belongs to one group. anyone who can call people like mr sinyinda a new entrant are either sick or need counselling.
mr sinyinda is the right man to lead a united front. he already knows how far the whole issue is. we should not be deceived that independece is already there. what we have so far is what has been achieved by mr sinyinda on behalf of bre. now lets give him, and the other colegues move foward as activists.

Let the people of the Royal Barotseland both @ home & in the Diaspora read the Royal kingdom of Barotseland Transition it clearly states that the person to be the Administrator-G eneral(Prime Minister) after transitional period shall be elected by the minority liberation movements members to head the Royal kingdom of Barotseland Government during the transitional period and we the Barotseland National Youth League (BNYL) whose membership is over 2 million overwhelmingly voted for His Excellency RT.Hon. Afumba Mombotwa we can & we can assure you country men & women that even if elections for the Royal Kingdom are held today His Excellency RT.Hon. Afumba Mombotwa shall win with landslide margin against his opponents believe it or not but, this is reality.

Bo Muyunda Makala thank you very much to here from you. But you people are very late, so i would advise that you meanwhile let Linyungandombo omplete the journey for us and later if you people can then go ahead with your plan of contesting for the higher office in barotseland. we already know the plan Hor. Sinyinda has.
