Self-determination declaration announced by the people of Barotseland in 2012 through the historic BNC , refer to the territory's expressed preference for self-government and independent statehood. This territorial self-governance extends not only to the existing ‘western province’ boundary but that of 1900 as described and documented in the Anglo /Portuguese Barotseland boundary case of 1905 and Barotseland Northwestern Rhodesia in Council of 1899. The demands are for both external and ...
Zambian Vice President Inonge Wina has told her parliament Friday morning 27th February 2015, in her capacity as leader of the Zambian government business in the house, that the Barotseland problem was not the only issue in Zambia. Wina was responding to a question from Mapatizya Member of Parliament Clive Miyanda who wanted to know when Wina would issue a pronouncement on the Barotseland Agreement since she originated from Western Province (Barotseland). Wina said the fact that she ...
INTRODUCTION The subject of the Nkoya relationship with the rest of Barotseland has been in public domain for some time now, and because of the misinformation that is carried on about it by those that deliberately wish to use it as a tool to divide and rule Barotseland, we have decided to feature a paper that was written by Hon. Namushi Nyambe who is BRE Induna Yutanga. He is also the current Acting Imangambwa at the Naliele District Kuta of Kaoma, which is at the centre of the Intransigence ...
The matter between Mweene Mutondo and senior Chief Amukena both of Kaoma today (Thursday 26th) heard evidence from the Barotse Royal Establishment, BRE’s Induna Imandi as the last witness from the defendant's side. Induna Imandi introduced himself as the Induna in charge of education and Customs in the BRE structure. Like the other four witnesses who had given their evidence in court before, he was required to outline how the Lozi culture and customs work, which he explained clearly, citing ...
The Lusaka High court was today a hive of colorful activity as Lozi Indunas dressed in their Lizibas and mashushus submitted that the current Mweene Mutondo of the Nkoya is illegally in Office and was wrongly gazetted by the Zambian government, using undesirable Zambian politics. This came to light when Induna Mutwaileti, who was one of the 16 Indunas that came from the Kuta as key witnesses on behalf of the BRE took to the witness stand. This is in continued trial in which Chief Mweene Mutondo ...
It will be important to briefly run down some of the government formation processes to remove the innuendo being peddled by those unaware of these processes as they exist in international law, such as has been displayed by some top BNFA leadership and members lately. ‘GOVERNMENT’ is the political organization of the state. It is the concrete and visible instrument of state power. We should be aware that the government is the agency through which common policies are determined, and by which ...
I am very much convinced and know that the PF led Zambian government has no solution to the even hotter Barotseland issue, because they were not there when Mr. Kaunda Kenneth abrogated the Barotseland Agreement of 1964. The current government’s main problem is burying their heads in the sand, pretending that everything is OK, and that there is no problem. They want to make the whole world believe that: a)    Barotseland was NEVER a state before 1964 b)    The Litunga is not and that he ...

The international media outfit PresTV has listed and named Barotseland among “Newest Emerging” nations of the world.

In their 20th December, 2012 article in which they accused “The corporate news media, acting on behalf of globalist contrivances like the European Union, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), is turning up the heat against moves by emergent nations in Europe to seek independence,” they listed Barotseland as one of those new nations marching to join the world community carrying their own banners.

The article was written by the internationally acclaimed Wayne Madsen, who is a Washington, D.C.-based investigative journalist, author and columnist specializing in intelligence and international affairs.

He is the author of the blog Wayne Madsen Report and here below are some of the many intelligence reports he is credited with.

  • In 2002 Wayne suggested to the Guardian newspaper that the United States Navy had aided in an attempted overthrow of Venezuelan president, Hugo Chavez.
  • In 2003 Wayne said that he had uncovered information linking the September 11 attacks to the government of Saudi Arabia as well as to Bush administration.
  • In 2005, he wrote than an unidentified former CIA agent claimed that the USS Cole was actually hit by a Popeye cruise missile launched from an Israeli Dolphin-class submarine.

The list of emerging nations of the world named by Wayne included Europe’s Catalonia and Scotland. Others named and sited in the article are; West Papua, Casamance, Ambazonia, South Yemen, Oromia, Azawad, Kashmir, Aceh, and Bangsamoro.

Funny how i thought we have always been a Nation, but only stateless. People may celebrate this piece of news but the more correct rendering of historical facts ought to have been differently reported. We are a Re-Emerging Nation! May the international community know this that we as Barotseland have been a Nation since the 1600s and we have not kept it safe for over 400 years by chewing bubble gum! It is a good thing though that our struggle continues to reach more receptive ears in the international community. It is however of paramount importance that accurate information has to be disseminated lest they think we are merely a bunch of noise-making crack pots hell bent on destabilizing a hitherto thought previous monolithic and singular nation of Zambia which has always been one and indivisible and consequently the regional 'peace' at large. “These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed, if so celestial an article as Freedom should not be highly rated.”- Thomas Paine
