In the case of Northern Rhodesia and Barotseland, no union was established, except for the inheritance of power and obligations of the queen by Mr. Kaunda in 1964. Surely there is no united, "Baro-zam" as a country; so there was an elliptical formation of the Zambian state parallel to none. REALITY It is quite evident that Barotseland has never been formally annexed to any territory to date; and it has never been an enclave. The legality of annexation of Barotseland to Zambia could only ...
"Owing to the fact that the Barotseland case is not a dispute, a controversy or a conflict but a question of deprivation of the Barotse people's right to self rule as provided by the Barotseland agreement 1964 . Certainly, the plight of our nation is real and not imaginary and the renaming of our territory to Western province by our oppressors - Zambia is a sad story to tell. Nonetheless we do not intend to sit back and watch."  - Linyungandambo presentation at 2012 BNC How can one ...
Dear Editor, Please allow me space to react to the insults hauled upon the Barotse people by Zambia's minister Michael Kaingu during his recent visit to Barotseland where he called the people of Barotseland ungrateful when even dogs show gratitude to their masters for the scraps of food they receive by wagging their tails. First and foremost, the people of Barotseland are not boot-lickers like the Hon Minister,it is a known fact Mr. Kaingu puts his foot in his mouth every time he speaks and ...
We have said from time to time that no Zambian politician will solve the Barotseland impasse, as they are all one and the same over this matter. No matter what they promise to Barotseland, their ideology is, and will always be that Barotseland never existed or it has no right to exist as a separate state. Their wish is that if this ideology is perpetuated long enough, somehow future generations will never know or believe in the truth that Barotseland existed as a state and nation before ...
Zambia’s VICE-PRESIDENT Inonge Wina is expected in Mongu tomorrow for a three-day visit to Barotseland during which she will meet the Litunga (King) before addressing public meetings in the provincial capital, in Senanga and in Nalolo. This will be her first official visit to the region since President Lungu appointed her as Zambia’s first female Vice-President last January. According to the programme issued by Zambia’s Western Province administration, obtained and reported by ...
WHAT IS TRUTH? In John 18:37-38 of the Christian Holy scripture we find the following; "37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered; Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. “38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no ...
Induna Kalonga, who is a former acting Ngambela of Barotseland, Mr. Siisi Godfrey Lifuna has died. Mr. Siisi died on Thursday night of 9th April, 2015 at around 22:00 hrs from undisclosed cause.

The international media outfit PresTV has listed and named Barotseland among “Newest Emerging” nations of the world.

In their 20th December, 2012 article in which they accused “The corporate news media, acting on behalf of globalist contrivances like the European Union, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), is turning up the heat against moves by emergent nations in Europe to seek independence,” they listed Barotseland as one of those new nations marching to join the world community carrying their own banners.

The article was written by the internationally acclaimed Wayne Madsen, who is a Washington, D.C.-based investigative journalist, author and columnist specializing in intelligence and international affairs.

He is the author of the blog Wayne Madsen Report and here below are some of the many intelligence reports he is credited with.

  • In 2002 Wayne suggested to the Guardian newspaper that the United States Navy had aided in an attempted overthrow of Venezuelan president, Hugo Chavez.
  • In 2003 Wayne said that he had uncovered information linking the September 11 attacks to the government of Saudi Arabia as well as to Bush administration.
  • In 2005, he wrote than an unidentified former CIA agent claimed that the USS Cole was actually hit by a Popeye cruise missile launched from an Israeli Dolphin-class submarine.

The list of emerging nations of the world named by Wayne included Europe’s Catalonia and Scotland. Others named and sited in the article are; West Papua, Casamance, Ambazonia, South Yemen, Oromia, Azawad, Kashmir, Aceh, and Bangsamoro.

Funny how i thought we have always been a Nation, but only stateless. People may celebrate this piece of news but the more correct rendering of historical facts ought to have been differently reported. We are a Re-Emerging Nation! May the international community know this that we as Barotseland have been a Nation since the 1600s and we have not kept it safe for over 400 years by chewing bubble gum! It is a good thing though that our struggle continues to reach more receptive ears in the international community. It is however of paramount importance that accurate information has to be disseminated lest they think we are merely a bunch of noise-making crack pots hell bent on destabilizing a hitherto thought previous monolithic and singular nation of Zambia which has always been one and indivisible and consequently the regional 'peace' at large. “These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed, if so celestial an article as Freedom should not be highly rated.”- Thomas Paine
